The manufacturers of CactiCurve says that it is the top fat blocker and appetite suppressant in the country. This makes it only one of dozens of other products that all make this same claim. Unfortunately, all too often, when examined under a microscope, it doesn’t take long to discover that the pills about which these claims are made are not capable of living up to this title.
A Diet Pill’s Formula Can Tell You A Lot About It
To find out if CactiCurve truly is the best product for blocking fat and suppressing the appetite, start by looking at its ingredients. On the official website for CactiCurve, the ingredients are listed as:
- 200mg Slimaluma
- 200mg Neopuntia
- 200mg Hoodia Gordonii
The manufacturer claims that these ingredients are “revolutionary” and that they act as natural fat blockers that will also stop its users from feeling hungry. It stated that these ingredients are clinically tested, though it does not indicate whether or not they were found to be at all useful for those purposes.
A Closer Look at the CactiCurve Ingredients
NeOpuntia is used by several weight loss product manufacturers as a fat blocker and is made out of dehydrated leaves of a cactus plant called Opuntia ficus indica. Slimaluma, on the other hand, is another patented ingredient made out of caralluma fimbriata, a succulent plant, similar to a cactus. It has been eaten in India as a raw vegetable with spices. It has also been preserved in pickles and chutneys. Clinical studies have shown this to be a very mildly effective form of appetite supplement.
That said, in its supplement form, it has never been shown to be effective at all, and it is among the substances that the FTC has warned against as an ingredient in many “miracle diet” pills. That doesn’t seem to stop the marketers of CactiCurve from saying that this ingredient has been clinically proven to be powerful and effective. CactiCurve also claims to contain Hoodia Gordonii among its ingredients. This ingredient has been shown in clinical trials and studies not to promote any benefits relating to weight loss.
Integrity is Not This Manufacturer’s Top Priority
Though CactiCurve diet pills may or may not work, the sneaky tactics used for marketing CactiCurve do promote a lack of trust and confidence in its safety and its efficacy. Furthermore, the inclusion of ingredients that are known to be nothing more than hype make it difficult to recommend a product of this nature. Still, while there is no reason to trust this manufacturer, if you should decide that you would like to take this product, it is in your best interest to first consult with your healthcare provider before you spend your money and time on this diet pill.
CactiCurve Update March 2020
CactiCurve can no longer be purchased online. This product and its manufacturer no longer exist, at least not in any way that is related to this diet pill. Perhaps this dietary supplement has been rebranded with a similar or new formula or it has been completely discontinued. Whatever the case may be, the weight management aid that was reviewed above, is not something that you can currently buy. If the reason you were considering this diet pill was the ingredients within its formula, you can find other OTC diet pills that contain these substances, either together or separately.
That being said, what was said in this review then is still the same today. None of these substances – NeOpuntia, caralluma fimbriata or hoodia - have ever been proven beneficial to aid with weight loss in a meaningful way. As such, there is no guarantee that today’s diet pills that contain these substances will live up to their claims. It is important to remember that any ingredient can be clinically researched. Being clinically proven is something else altogether. Moreover, keep in mind that all diet pills, whether they are prescription or sold over the counter, are only meant to assist your other conventional weight loss strategies, such as behavioral changes, eating a health and calorie conscious diet and engaging in regular fitness appropriate exercise.
Finally, even if you do find another OTC weight management aid that you do like, just as in the case of CactiCurve, it’s always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider before taking any dietary supplement you intend to make a part of your regular diet.
