Natural Healing through herbs has changed the way we think about medicine and more importantly the foods we eat. Herbal healing wasn't given too much thought until recently. Things such as herbs, vegetables, cereals and fruits were simply things to eat. In a way, everyone, physician and layman, understood that these substances satisfied the appetite and at the same time supplied fuel to the body.
Today, with a deeper understanding of natural healing, the thought that foods are just energy for the body has changed. Bio-chemistry has discovered the fundamental, that health and strength do not depend so much on the specific substances we ingest as food, as they do on the vital organic and mineral contents of these substances.
When first cultivated, some herbs were thought to be poisonous by those in the medical community and were considered as a cause of certain health problems. But these old ideas have thankfully been thrown into the discard with many other erroneous popular opinions, and herbs, and more importantly healing through natural herbs have been brought into the forefront of health healing and longevity. Some herbs in the past were not even considered either herb or vegetable, but a weed. These herbs again are being reinvestigated for their terrific healing properties.
Some herbs more commonly known as vegetables are excellent in the treatment of various medical conditions and can effectively treat your nervous system. Here are just some (a very small list indeed) of the conditions that can be very effectively treated by herbs: Asthma, Blood Poisoning, Bronchitis, Cholera, Colds, Colic in Children, Constipation, Chronic Cough with Phlegm, Whooping Cough, Dementia, Diarrhea, Earache, Eczema, Fever, Influenza, Gout, Headache, Indigestion, Insomnia, Menstrual Irregularities, Nervousness, Night Sweats, Enlarged Prostate, and Ulcers.
100 years ago practically every mother knew how to use various herbs to effectively treat many health conditions and the family physician was called on only as a last resort. Unfortunately, once big business got involved in health all of these natural remedies were looked upon as inferior when compared to prescription medications and many were not used again until recently. Thankfully, natural healing through herbs is making a comeback in a big way. There are many reasons for this, but the main reason is that science is now been able to prove that herbal healing really does work.
