If you absolutely loathe getting up and moving around, then it’s time to change your attitude toward fitness. Whether or not you like exercising is a choice. The reason is that being active isn’t just one activity that you do or do not like. This is a category of movement.
As long as you have the right attitude toward fitness then you’ll be open to discovering a full spectrum of different kinds of exercise and workout that you can really enjoy. Once you start to like your exercise, you’ll find that you actually look forward to doing it. When you don’t have to force yourself to be active every day then it will be much easier to keep it up. It’s time to start having a look at your attitude toward fitness so you can change it for the better and adopt a much more healthful lifestyle that involves moving around and loving it. Here are some helpful tips to get you started along that path: · Get to know yourself – Before you can change your attitudes, you need to know who you are. What are your motivations? What will get you out the door every single day to complete that workout? When will you be most likely to fit it in every single day without fail? What are the obstacles that are most likely to get in your way? Once you understand those various factors, then you can start to try to work around them so you’ll be more likely to try new workouts, enjoy them and keep them up. It also means that if you’re not enjoying something, you can look back over all those factors to help to discover where you may not have made the ideal choice for yourself. Perhaps jogging first thing in the morning wasn’t such a good idea after all, and you’d be better off doing it immediately after work, for example.
· Celebrate your achievements – Set small goals for yourself so you have something to reach for. Make them challenging but not so much that you won’t achieve them. When you do reach that pre-determined milestone, celebrate! Buy that book you’ve wanted to read. Go see that move you’ve been dying to check out.
· Get serious about it – Don’t just tell yourself that you’ll see if you can make fitness work. Decide that it’s what is going to happen. You need exercise if you’re going to be healthy and live a long life. This is worth your dedication. Decide to be excited about your workouts and live up to your promise to yourself. You may be surprised at how your attitude changes.
