LiveTru Nutrition Garcinia Cambogia is an over the counter weight loss product that is among the massive number pumping the quote Dr. Oz made about the main ingredient. The problem with that infamous quote the daytime television celebrity made on his show is that it was not based on any scientific evidence. In fact, Dr. Mehmet Oz was required to speak in front of a Senate Committee as a result of his rampant claims regarding unproven ingredients.
Dr. Oz later admitted that it was a mistake to make the claims he did regarding the couple of dozen ingredients he promoted without medical evidence to support his claims. While this doesn’t mean that the product won’t work, it does kick the pins out from under the main argument the manufacturer made in favor of the supplement’s only active ingredient.
LiveTru Nutrition Garcinia Cambogia is made of a vegetarian capsule and contains 800 milligrams of garcinia cambogia. As the directions recommend that two capsules be taken per serving, this means that a dieter would be taking 1,600 milligrams of the ingredient per dose. The only problem with that is that there is no scientific evidence published in a reputable medical journal that would state that this amount is ideal for producing benefits, that it is safe to use, that it won’t produce unwanted side effects or that it won’t conflict with medications or medical conditions. Without that information, a dieter simply cannot know whether or not it is appropriate for his or her healthy use.
While the official website for this product does go into immense detail to describe the conversion of the ingredient so that it is standardized to 60 percent (-)-hydroxycitric acid (HCA) and it states that it has been clinically shown to inhibit the production of fat, suppress the appetite, boost fat burning and raise weight loss results without acting as a nervous system stimulant, that information was not supported with any evidence.
In fact, the only quotes that were provided were repeated mentions of what Dr. Oz said on his show – statements that were later withdrawn as a part of the celebrity’s admission of having made a mistake in making the claims he had made.
This would require the dieter to simply blindly believe what the company is claiming. For this reason, it is a very good idea to speak with a doctor before starting the use of this or any other garcinia cambogia dietary supplement.
