I have learned that once you give birth, you must start losing weight immediately because the fastest time you lose weight is during the first 2 months after labor. In addition, you must also breast feed your child to help you lose weight faster. Is it true?

I am a mother and unfortunately I have not tried to lose weight right after birth since all my time has been used up looking after my baby, house chores, and office work. However, I always find time to breast feed my newborn whenever possible which is why I think I have not gained so much weight. Unfortunately, I do not breastfeed full time. I use either formula milk and breast milk depends on my schedule.
Anyway, I now know that breastfeeding can indeed help you lose weight since I have read in some weblog that you burn 600 calories a day just by breastfeeding your child. That is really something don't you think? Furthermore, studies show that if you breastfeed, your hip and wist circumference will significantly reduce fast compared to mothers who use formula milk on their children. This study is according to the Journal of American Dietician Association. So the next time I will get pregnant again ( which might be a couple of years from now), I will surely breastfeed my baby.
Besides, think of this as an advantage not only for you but for your baby as well. If you breastfeed, your baby will get your antibodies which help fight off diseases while they are still on the process of antibody production. It is actually very beneficial for both mothers and their babies so I highly recommend it for every responsible mothers out there.

You can do targeted workouts that don't take a lot of time. If you're trying to slim your belly, try a few reps of crunches or sit-ups.

Breastfeeding is really helpful to kick starting your weight loss right after having your baby. You do burn up to 600 calories a day just by breastfeeding. You'd have to run at an intense pace for an hour or more to burn that many calories.
While you're receiving the benefits of the caloric burn, your baby gets all the great benefits of breastfeeding as well. Your baby receives antibodies to help him/her against infection, gives him/her the perfect nutrition his/her body needs, and it's great bonding for the two of you.
Besides, right after having a baby, it may be hard to get up and exercise right away while your body is still recovering from the delivery. Breastfeeding gives you an avenue to burn some calories without injuring your body.
