Is it possible to lose 100 pounds in a year safely or is that just wishful thinking?

Yeah, shedding 100 pounds is a lot. It's a good goal if you can stand to lose 100, but I would also recommend cutting that in half and aiming for 50 pounds. You'll feel proud of yourself when you achieve small goals instead of shooting for the big ones. I mean, you may be able to lose 100 in a year, that's not impossible, but why not first start with something lower and go from there. You really don't know how difficult it can be to lose weight until you start doing it.

It's totally possible to lose 100 pounds in one year, Tiff. That's not wishful thinking at all. In fact, it's really practical and it's probably the smartest way to lose this amount of weight. I say if you're motivated to lose 100 pounds in one year, go for it. The goal is perfectly achievable without causing you to have to be unhealthy or even unhappy with your diet. You can easily lose a pound or two per week. To lose two pounds in a week, you'll need to drop 1,000 calories per day.
