Lighting really makes a difference when it comes to the pictures you take. How you look in natural lighting compared to different types of artificial lighting is really shocking! I recommend taking pictures of yourself in all different types of lighting when you're first begin your B&A progress to find out which lighting you like best so you can keep using it the whole way trough.

Yeah I agree tobetinytina. Lighting really does make a difference and it's important to find out what type of lighting you like best if you want to take quality and genuine before and after pictures. Plus, when you learn a bit more about photography you might start to get experimental and that might make taking pictures a lot more interesting and fun instead of just dreading the process.

Light does matter, but do keep in mind that you are just taking a before and after photo to track weight loss. You don't need to think of it as a photo shoot unless you really need that sort of motivation. I honestly find that taking the picture wearing the exact same clothes in the exact same location during the same time of day is what is the most effective for taking accurate B&A pics for weight loss that you can track. The more stuff is the same, the easier it is to spot he difference.

It's true that you don't have to total photoshoot when you're taking B&A picks (not unless you want to) and I also agree that you should try to keep pictures the same as possible (ex. same environment, same clothes, same angles, wear your hair the same, etc.) but lightinig is important. Even taking pictures at certain times of the day can mess up how you actually look due to shadows, etc. All I'm saying is you want to take as true a photo as possible by eliminating any add-ons or problems the camera may include because the light's not right, etc.
