My mother has some pretty bad veracious veins and I think I can see the start of one forming on my left leg. I don't want to end up with legs like my mom for obvious reasons (both looks and pain). Are there any exercises that I can do which may help to prevent this condition or at least minimize it?

The best exercises for helping with the condition and preventing it are:
walking, pedaling (either on a bike or the pedaling exercise motion), leg lifts, knee and ankle flexing. These exercises help to improve circualtion.
Other great ways to help prevent the condition is to avoid crossing your legs when you sit, wear high heels as infrequent as possible, elevate your legs whenever you can, eat a diet that is rich in fiber and low in salt, and control your weight (avoid being overweight).
Hope that helps Nelly!

Yeah, exercise is important but mostly you want to avoid stressing your legs. Don't cross your legs and keep them elevated. Don't sit for too long and don't stand for too long either, especially on concrete or in high heels. Keep your blood flowing and your circulation will be a lot better and you'll be less likely to have problems!

While I knew about the leg crossing thing, I also didn't realize that diet could play a roll. Thanks for all these suggestions tobetinytina! :) And thanks for asking the question Nelly!
