Try to add extra fibre to your diet! Fiber fills you up so you feel fuller longer so you eat less and it helps prevent grazing in between meals. Fibre also helps clean out the digestive tract and bowels, and helps move fat out of our bodies.
Tips for eating more fibre:
1. Eat cereal with bran.
2. Add wheat germ, wheat bran, oat bran, barley bran, rice bran or psyllium husks on your breakfast cereal.
3. Put some fresh fruit on your cereal for added sweetness instead of sugar.
4. Eat lots of veggies. Take less meat at dinner time and take more veggies instead.
5. Choose brown or wholegrain breads, flour, rices and pastas instead of the white variety.
6. Snack on high fibre foods like baked beans, fruit and cereals
7. Eat the skins of fruit and vegetables like carrots, potatoes, apples and pears.
8. Eat raw vegetables for a snack or put them in salads i.e. carrots and celery
