I was always under the belief that if you exercise a lot, your appetite would grow, so you’d offset the benefits of the workout by eating more than normal. Not true! I have a very tiny pre-breakfast – like a ¼ cup of unsweetened applesauce, and then go for a 2 mile walk in the morning, then I come home drink water and eat a good breakfast. For the rest of the day, I’m actually way less hungry than I normally am. I think as long as you save your meal for after the workout, you don’t actually increase your appetite. It’s a matter of timing.

You're so lucky. It does the exact opposite for me. I'm not hungry right away after a workout, but a few hours later, I"m starving. I wish there was something I could do about that. Fortunately I can take in more calories since I'm burning more, but still, I'd like to burn more and not have to eat more calories!

I find that I feel both ways. While I'm exercising and right afterward, I don't feel hungry at all. When I'm out for a brisk walk or if I go swimming or head to the gym, the last thing on my mind is my hunger. The problem I have is about an hour or two later, when I've stopped exercising and I'm working at my computer. Then I'm starving. I'm lucky I don't eat the computer if there is a picture of food on it ha ha.
