  • Eggs for breakfast

I recently heard that a good tip to follow if you're trying to lose weight is to eat eggs for breakfast. Why would that be beneficial for weight loss? Does anyone know? Plus, I always thought that you shouldn't eat eggs every day. Isn't that bad for your cholesterol?

I don't think you should eat eggs every single day, but at the same time I don't see them being bad if you ate them every other day. Also, if you're worried about cholesterol, I think you can just eat the egg whites.

I don't think I would eat eggs every morning either. Eggs are great and everything, but there are other ways to get protein and energy that they provide. It's always a good idea to have variety in your diet.

It's not going to kill you to eat eggs every day for breakfast (especially if you prepare them in the least greasy non-fat ways - e.g. boiled or poached) but at the same time you can get protein from other healthy stuff that can give you a boost in the morning, like nuts or even some beans. Don't just listen to what the "experts" say. Variety and balance are what is most important for the best weight loss success. No single food is essential for weight loss.

You can eat eggs (up to 3 whole eggs) daily without this causing any real harm to your health or LDL (Bad) cholesterol. Eggs can also consistently raise good cholesterol which is a good thing. Eggs are a good source of protein so they can help give you energy and satiate your hunger. They are a great start to your morning for weight loss for this reason.

You really can eat eggs daily, but honestly you're really going to want to stick to boiled eggs and poached eggs as much as possible. Frying eggs (especially in butter or oil) isn't nearly as good for you and will start to add up in calories.

Okay, I guess that makes more sense. Boiled and poached eggs are definitely better than eggs fried in oil. That's what I couldn't quite understand. Getting up and eating fried eggs every morning just sounds like a bad idea haha. I suppose it's all a matter in the way that you cook them. Glad that they're good eat every day though. I was hoping this was the case because I like boiling eggs in advance and having them in the fridge to easily grab as a snack or to take to work, etc. Thanks for all your opinions everyone :D
