  • Should I get pregnant now?

I'm wondering if I should get pregnant now. I know we're in the middle of a pandemic, but my biological clock is ticking and I'm worried that if I don't get pregnant now, I might miss my chance. I held off last year, but now that there is a vaccine, maybe it's a better idea... Any thoughts?

That's something that only you and your partner (if it's not just you making the decision) can decide. To be honest, there is no right or wrong time to have a baby. Logically speaking, waiting makes sense for some people due to how strapped medical facilities are and going to doctors appointments and checkups may be something you'll need to do solitary due to safe health rules. However, if you feel that this is your only chance that you might get pregnant, then perhaps for you, the benefits of having a baby now will outweigh these drawbacks. Whatever you decide, just make sure it is the right choice for you. Don't worry about other people's opinions. There are always going to be people who support you and people who think you're crazy for doing something. Don't make a lifechanging decision like this based on pressures or opinions from those who won't be carrying, delivering or raising your baby.

I agree. No one can truly tell you when it's the right time for you. You need to make a list of the pros and cons and decide from there. Whatever you do choose, it's not the wrong choice. Have a baby is a lifelong commitment. You simply need to be ready to take on that commitment no matter what might happen.

Do what you feel is right for you! Don't worry about what's happening in the rest of the world. There are some things that you can control and others you can't. Just make sure your decision is based on something that you want and not out of worry about a pandemic or out of fear of not being able to do something. Having a child is a lifelong commitment after all. Your decision needs to be made with the assumption that you will have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Do you want and are you prepared to be a parent for the rest of your life? If you can answer that question, than you might have your answer. :)

Thank you all so much for your support and honesty. I genuinely didn't look at it that way. All I can think about what a mess our world is in because of the Pandemic. My biggest fear is that if I have a complicated pregnancy I'll add more strain to the already over-strained health system. For now, I think I'm going to wait and if it's meant to be it'll be and if I change my mind so be it. Either way, I'm going to stop being so hard on myself! Thanks again everyone. Hope you and the ones you love are staying safe.
