  • Pregnancy weight loss diet

Is it possible to continue losing weight while you're pregnant, as long as you don't lose too much? Like if I'm currently following a diet and exercise regimen, can I keep it up?

It's definitely possible and you may be able to keep up with what you've been doing as long as it's not too intense. Of course, if continuing with your weight loss is important to you during pregnancy, DO speak to your doctor about it. This isn't one of those situations where that's optional. You don't want to bring harm to yourself or your growing baby. Plus, you might find that once you are pregnant you may not have the same motivation or desire to continue with what you're doing. Discuss your options with your doctor and I"m sure together you'll come up with a healthy plan that works for you :)

I know I should talk to my doctor and I will. I just hope that I'll be able to keep up with what I'm doing. I'm so proud of the progress I've made and the thought of losing it (even cause I'm pregnant) is rather depressing. My biggest fear is that I'll stop doing what I'm doing (by choice or because I have to cause I'm pregnant) and then I'll gain a whole pile of weight and be even heavier than I am now once I've had my baby.

Try not to worry about it brightstar. My wife went through something similar and she found her way. Find out what you need to know from your doctor to put your mind at ease and then just do your best to take it one day at a time.

I honestly think you'll be fine. You'll have you highs and lows but if you really want to lose the weight, when the time comes you will. What's important is that you share your fears and anxieties with others. Sometimes, venting about it and getting the right kind of support is all you need to get through something.

I agree! I certainly can't speak for you or anyone else brightstar but ffviifan makes a good point. I always feel better after I've had a good vent session. It doesn't fix everything, but sometimes when you can say what's on your mind and someone listens to you and offers support and advice (if you're willing to listen) you may feel less alone and crazy and you might be able to alter your perspective for the better and find a diet plan and/or strategy that will work for you throughout your pregnancy and after. :)
