My friend just had her first baby and she's so depressed about all the weight she gained. She really wants to start losing but she's too sore to really exercise. I want to offer her support. Is there anything that I can do?

Awww that's really sad to hear Char. You can encourage her by helping her with her diet. Since she's too sore to exercise, maybe encouraging her with her eating habits will be helpful as she should experience weight loss if she watches how many calories she ingests. Then, once her body is ready for more intense exercising, she'll enjoy even great weight loss :)

Maybe encourage your friend to go for a walk with you everyday and go at her pace. The interaction and movement might help her feel a little better while she's still healing. Also, remind her that she is still healing and eventually she will be able to make more of an effort to lose weight. Beyond that, she should talk to her doctor about what she can do for now to get rid of the excess weight. :)
