  • C-Section exercises

I've had a C-section with my last childbirth. The healing process has taken a while, but now I want to lose the extra weight I gained. Are there any good exercises I can try to help me lose the weight even though I've had a C-section? Are there any that I should avoid? My doc says I'm good to exercise, but he didn't really give me any tips on what exercises I should do, other than telling me to take it easy...

As long as you're healed you should be able to do a lot of exercises. If you want to start off slowly and ease yourself into the more intense stuff, I recommend walking as much as you can during the day. Put your little one in the stroller and just walk. :)

I would avoid things like crunches and stuff that's a little too intense for that muscle region until it's fully healed and then I would slowly increase the endurance there. That said, as long as you've got the "okay" to exercise again, there isn't much you can't do, just take it easy and listen to your body so you don't push yourself too far. It will likely be uncomfortable at first, but there's a huge difference between mild discomfort and pain.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have been easing back into exercises and avoiding things like crunches. Everything is uncomfortable but I do it as long as I'm not actually feeling any pain. I know it'll get easier....I just wish I could lose weight faster. Surgeries suck...
