  • Weight loss diary app

I think the only way that I'd be able to maintain a proper weight loss diary is if I had it with me all the time and it was super easy. I'm just too lazy to do it otherwise.

I think an app would be a terrific way to accomplish this. Does anyone have a recommendation for one that I should (or should not) use?

I've seen ads on television that have been advertising Weight Watchers through an app. It's being marketed to a younger group, which is quite obvious through the college-age girl that they're using instead of the typical forty-something.

I don't know if you can get that one without actually subscribing to the program or not, but it is advertising calorie counters and food diaries and a thing that lets you know about the foods that you're eating in various restaurants.

There are probably lots of other mobile apps like this out there, though, considering the size of the market (no pun intended)

There are quite a few apps like this at both the iPhone and Android marketplaces. They range in prices and what they can accomplish, but there are certainly a lot of them.

If you're looking for apps like that, check out some of the ones that appeal to you there and then just have a look at the reviews that have been left for them from people who have downloaded them. That'll give you a good idea of the types of pros and cons that you can expect and whether or not people think they're worthwhile.

Side note, Paplo, I think Weight Watchers has been marketing to a younger crowd for a while. Jennifer Hudson only just turned 30.

Try out some free ones first to see if you like the idea of it. It depends on what kind of device you have (Android, iPhone, blackberry, etc). If you really like the free one, you can either keep that or get a more advanced one with more features but that you have to pay for.

Apps are really the way to go. Then you always have it with you so you have no excuse not to keep it up.

It's all a matter of finding one that has the features you like. If you try one and you don't like it, don't give up there. That's like reading one book that you don't like and saying all books are terrible. There are so many options out there - and ones that are available for free - that you can really keep trying them until you find one that will make all the difference for you.
