  • Can you track on paper?

I know that there are lots of tracking and diary apps and computer programs and web based options, but it is actually possible to do this on paper and if it is, what do you have to write down and what kind of calculations do you have to do?

I imagine that it would be possible but I really wouldn’t want to. It would mean that you’d have to look up the calorie content of all of the foods that you eat, which is a genuine pain in the a$$ if you ask me.

If you use online ones, they have great databases that let you just type in the food and click on the right option. That’s a lot better than having to look it all up individually and record it on paper. Try it for one day and you’ll realize that it takes a lot of searching because there are a lot of ingredients in what you eat.

The online ones already have it all programmed in. On paper, it’s all up to you. Then you have to total it all up, try to figure out how it breaks down in terms of fats, carbs, and proteins, and then make sense of it. If you have a really good healthy lifestyle community, you’ll be able to create various types of reports and graphs so that you can check out your progress for the day, the week, or however long you want.

If you want to do it on paper, you should write about where you’re proud of yourself, where you messed up, and that kind of thing, but keep the tracking to computers if you actually want to keep it up!

I’m sure it’s possible but I seriously doubt that anyone would be able to keep it up. It’s too slow. When you could have it all calculated and entered quickly on your computer, then it really feels like it takes far too long when you try to do things on paper.

Doing stuff on paper just doesn't work these days when it comes to tracking and accessing information that is stored in a database. You've got to use your computer or your phone.

i think using an app is a better option while you are willing to have your track all over
