I think keeping a diary isn't only good for weight loss, but is good for overall nutrition. Tracking what you eat gives you a great idea of what you are putting in your body and how much of it. When you can actually see it in front of you, it can be a real eye opener. I think keeping a diary is great for everyone who just wants a really good idea of what they put in their diet. I can't speak for everyone, but I have to say that before I started tracking, I assumed I was eating a lot healthier than I actually was.

I hear ya char! When I first started tracking I was blown away at how much fat and sugar I was consuming in a day, even when I thought I had been good and cut a lot of it out of my diet. Tracking really gives you a much better idea of how you can control your diet and makes you think twice before you make certain food selections.

I think it's a good idea, too. That said, I find keeping a diary and tracking all the time is a lot of work. Even with an app. My days are busy, and the last thing I want to do is haul my phone out while I'm eating and track everything. I wish tracking was faster and less of a nuisance.
