  • Tracking app recommendations?

I’m looking for an app for an Android (jellybean) that will help me to track my calories and nutrients. I want to be able to enter in all of my food so I can track things, but I’m hoping for free, if possible.

If you just go to Play then you can type in "nutrition tracker" or "calorie tracker" or something like that and you'll get a huge selection of options. It really is an area where there area lot of choices.

I really haven't found a free one that I like very much. I find that they are all too limited or too ad filled when they are free. I've tried a good handful of them and I've deleted them all so far. If anyone has any luck, please let me know, but I have my doubts about those apps.

so far, the spark people (free) and weight watchers (paid) are the best ones that I have tried.

That's a good one. I've had it on my Android smartphone for a while. I don't find that it's nearly as good as the full web-based app that you can use on a laptop, but it is good in a pinch when you can't sign in but you either want to track something or you want to look something up.

a lot of the free ones are very limited or glitchy. I totally understsand your question. THis is a very hard thing to try to find without having to actually pay any money for it. And even when you pay,. it's hard to know what's good and what's not!

I don't know about nutrition but there are a lot of really great ones out there for fitness, especially if you walk, jog or run. If you're into tracking, those really help a lot.

Most of the free ones are bad so if you find a good one, don't lose it.

My family (parents included) have been fairly happy with myfitnesspal. It has a URL scanner so you can scan packages and add them. Sometimes when you search for a food the calories in different entries vary so you have to take a good guess or pick a middle number.

                  Overall it's been pretty good.

That sounds really cool! What operating system does it work on? Android? iphone? Do you mean URL scanner or UPC scanner? Either one would be awesome, I'm just curious.
