I’ve been dieting for several months now and I have to say that I am getting to the point that I am sick to death of tracking and monitoring every single thing that I eat. There is definitely something to be said about recording things at the beginning because you’re learning your habits, but after a while I start to feel like I’m my own science experiment or like I’ve become obsessive compulsive. Soon I’m going to be urinating in bottles and growing my fingernails out to extreme lengths!

I completely understand what you mean. It's frustrating, especially when you're just learning, but it really is necesary. Try to figure out the areas that you are weakest. Maybe you can just track those things and you'll be fine with handling the rest. You could be tracking too many things and that's why it's driving you nuts. If you've already built the right habits in some areas you might not have to track them anymore.

Try to work tracking into your life as much as possible in a natural way. That way it won;t be as invasive and it won't jar in the same way as if you have to sit down and write down things every time you eat or exercise. If you have an app, for example, or if you create a chart where you just check things off instead of actually typing or writing them out, that might be a lot easier.

What I find difficult about tracking is that I can't always have my pad of paper or computer around so if I want to really stay on top of it, then I need to use my cell phone. But I'm really bad at using a touch screen keyboard so I can't always figure out what it was that I recorded earlier in the day because I've typed a bunch of nonsense LOL
