  • Track your weaknesses

If you're like me, then ou really can't stand keeping up a dieting diary. It seems like a good idea at first, but when you actually try to keep up with it, it doesn't take long for it to fall apart.

So here's my technique that is working so far. Only track the "bad" foods. The fatty, sugary, super high calorie foods that you know are not an appropriate part of your diet.

Tracking these points out how often you're really doing it, and I've actually found that knowing I'll have to "admit" i had those foods by writing them down will deter me from eating them when I'm tempted!

That's SUCH a good idea! Thank you! That makes a lot of sense

If you write down when - like the time of the day or the situation - that you most wanted to give in to those "weaknesses" then you might be able to get a pattern out of it, too. That was what helped me. I actually had no idea how much i was snacking right before dinner to "tide" me over. I was doing it nearly every day and had fooled myself into thinking that it was only once in a while!

I've been trying to track the number of times that I decide not to exercise because of differnet things like the weather, I worked really hard, etc. Turns out, I'm one lazy man! Now it's acting like a deterrent because I'm ashamed to write down that I skipped yet another walk haha

I think when it comes down to it, my weakness is that every time I hear a new tip, I want to implement it right away, so I never really stick to a whole plan for very long LOL

LOL well maybe this will be the first one you stick to . Actually, it looks pretty reasonable. Trying to track everything is a lot of work, but just tracking what you know you're doing wrong is a real time saver. The more time is saved, the more likely I am to actually do it - hopefully, that'll be the case for you too!

I find that if i trick myself into thinking that it's a treat when it's actually still something really great on my diet I can make a lot faster progress because I kill my cravings that way and I can have more treats.
