If you find that your diet journal/diary isn’t all that effective for you or that you don’t have the motivation to write in it consistently, then create a blog and tell your family and friends about it (or send them an online invitation to read it).
You might find that by sharing your experience with yourself AND your support group will keep you writing. Share your victories, struggles, frustrations, and funny experiences, and give details. You don’t have to give your exact weight, but you can still say how much you lost every week. Open it up to comments, too (though I recommend you moderate it if you don’t want crazy internet people spamming you) and you may be surprised at what they say.
I always look forward to mine.
