  • digital vs. manual

I have been trying a number of ways to try to keep on top of a weight loss diary and although I wouldn't really consider myself a person who prefers digital things to handwritten (I still read print books, not ebooks!) I have found that I can keep up with my diary a lot easier if it's on my computer.

Even better, I found a website where I can keep all of my weight loss diary info in my profile, so it can be accessed at home or at work. That means I don't need to do all of my entries at once, but I can keep up with them throughout the day.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or is hand written still considered to be the best way by most?

I personally like to write things down. It's like the difference between receiving an email or getting a letter by actual snail mail. Though I'd rather work on the computer, when it comes to personal things, there is still something to be said about writing things by hand.

I have a small spiral notebook that I leave in the kitchen and I just write in it every time I have something to eat. What I do is I write what I'm having, how I feel, and why I feel like having that choice of food. That way, I not only keep better track of what I'm eating, but I also stop myself from eating foods out of boredom or just "wanting" it. It forces me to say "am I really hungry?"

I'm the opposite from Penny. If I have to write things down then I'll get too lazy and I won't do it. If it's on my computer, it's easy enough for me to keep up with.
