  • Does biariatric surgery lower cancer risk?

Losing weight with lifestyle changes helps to lower cancer risk, heart disease risk and so on. Does the same thing happen if the weight is lost because of bariatric surgery?

I think as long as you overcome obesity or even reduce it, your risk of heart disease and cancer and all those other conditions will also fall, no matter if it's from surgery, dieting or whatever other treatment and therapy you follow.

It helps to lower risk. Whatever gets rid of the stored fat pressuring the body and causing inflammation (etc), the outcome is that risks associated with that additional body fat are also lowered. So it's a matter of finding the right therapy for overcoming your obesity.
