  • How to measure the risk of weight loss surgery

I know the general risks of bariatric weight loss surgery, but how would I know how it specifically applies to me? How would I know if I'm on the low end of the risk range?

    Hi,

There are certain eligibility criteria's for such bariatric surgical options. Unless you fulfill them they won't consider you for weight loss surgery.
To be eligible for such weight-loss surgical procedures, you must meet the following requirements:

--Have a body mass index (BMI) of 40+, or have a BMI between 35 and 40 and an obesity-related condition, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or severe sleep apnea.
--To be eligible for bariatric surgery, your age must be between 16 to 70 years. Well there is no such age criteria but there is limitation.
Apart from these there are few edical concerns to be take care of. Read them here:

    Thanks

AdelynBradley Liposuction and bariatric/obesity surgery aren't the same thing or for the same purpose. It's really important for you to talk to a doctor before you consider getting either. Liposuction isn't a surgery that will help you with weight loss. It's normally more of a cosmetic procedure. The average person loses 2-5 pounds with liposuction. If you're looking to lose 110 kilos, you will barely even notice any difference - if at all - from liposuction. I can see why you want to turn to a surgical option, as you have quite a road ahead of you. That said, maybe talk to your doctor about other options, since I think your expectations for liposuction will only set you up for expensive disappointment. I wish you good luck with whatever option you choose. Weight loss is hard. I get it.
