I know it's possible to gain weight again even after surgery, but what I'm wondering is is it possible to gain even more weight than you lost? Especially if you've had your stomach stapled? Wouldn't it be hard to gain all the weight back if your stomach was made smaller?

Yes, you really can gain back more weight and from my understanding I don't think you can keep having surgeries to fix the problem. Once the surgery is done, you will still have to watch what you eat and take care of yourself. Remember there is no quick fix for weight loss, you have to make the necessary changes to keep excess fat off and your weight under control.

Depending on the surgery you have you can gain the weight back. However, if you had gastric bypass surgery, you'd have to consistently overeat to make this happen. While that's not hard to do, after having these surgeries there are certain rules that you need to follow and if you don't you'll run into lots of complications, so it's not like you can just eat anything after you've had one.

Exactly what Paplo said. Gaining weight can always happen. To lose weight and to keep it off (regardless of the method) requires permanent change. There is quick-fix. You don't just have a surgery for instance and then think you can eat crap and not exercise and get away with it. You need to change your entire lifestyle and after you've had surgery, this is doubly important.
