can the weight come back after surgery?

I’m not planning to get weight loss surgery but I do have a question about it. If you have your stomach stapled or you have a band put on it or whatever, can the weight come back after you lose it? Wouldn’t that keep your appetite small and stop from having any space for extra food to go? Are you set for life?

The weight can absolutely come back on again and it’s only all the more dangerous if you do. Once you do have the surgery then you need to be dedicated to sticking to an appropriate lifestyle for the rest of your life.

You can’t just go back to your old ways and think that everything will be fine.

as the others have stated, yes it can come back. Keeping it off is entirely up to you, as it is even if you were to lose a lot of weight without surgery. Your stomach may be smaller, but you still need to watch what you eat and how much.

Of course it can come back. Any time you lose weight it can come back. keeping it off is up to you. That said, hopefully if you're going to do something as serious and expensive as weight loss surgery you will want to keep it off forever!
