I know that every once in a while there's a new FDA weight loss pill or other device approved for treating obesity. Does anyone know if there are any new breakthrough surgeries or is it still just lap bands and thing like that?

It's an FDA-approved device that doesn't require surgery and is reversible. Essentially, it's a thin tube placed in your stomach that connects the interior of your stomach directly to a descreet button on the outside of your abdomen. After each meal, the device allows you to empty (aspire) up to 30% of your meal into a toilet via a tube that you connect to the button. So essentially, it's a device that allows you to empty out up to 30% of the food you've eaten from your stomach so you digest less.
Personally, this not only sounds disgusting to me, but it also doesn't sound like any sort of weight loss solution...its like you're telling people they can eat whatever the heck they want and just empty part of it. How is this healthy or a long-term REAL weight loss solution??

Yeah, wow, that does sound kinda gross. I'm really at a loss as to why anyone would think this is a good idea. I mean, could this also lead to infections and other issues? I mean a tube that you hook up to your stomach...that sounds crazy and just like a health problem waiting to happen.
