  • Burrito diet

Sounds like the worst thing for a weight loss diet, right?

I thought so too. Actually it's a lot of fresh, healthy foods and lots of veggies wrapped in a handy burrito. I can't use it all the time because who can eat burritos forever, even when you do switch them up? But it makes for an awesome lunch!

I saw the title of this post and I just started laughing. All I could think about was big mounds of beans and cheese and the poor significant other that has to sleep in your bed lol. But I guess your right if you just stuff it full of veggies and lean meats it makes a very healthy meal!

That's actually a very creative approach to dieting. The only thing that I wonder about is the number of carbs that you'd take in since you're already starting on a base of a wrap/tortilla

I was just going to say be careful about the wraps because a lot of wraps have more calories and fat then bread. It can be very misleading!

That's a super good point. Is there any way to choose the right kind of wrap to avoid that problem? Like a multigrain wrap that is baked in the right kind of oil or something like that?

I imagine that if you have the wrap instead of potatoes or rice or another carb then it wont' be causing too much damage. Am I completely off the mark?

This diet sounds interesting to me if it can be used just for lunches or just breakfasts and lunches, but I don't want to do it if it's just going to fill me with calories and fat!

Has anyone been successful using this diet over the long term?

It seems like a cute and creative one, but I just can't see myself eating the same style of meal every day.

I'd be curious to know if it was successful used just for one meal of the day or if it was successful as a diet as a whole.

How could you work in eating out at a place that doesn't make burritos

That's really the key. When you make them yourself, though, it's really easy. For example, a scrambled egg whites burrito with home made salsa and spinach leaves is low in calories but has a lot of energy and nutrients. It tastes GREAT and leaves you filled up at breakfast time.
