  • Look for a diet where you are in control

    After having stuck to a lot of really limited rigid diets that work great for a short period of time, I have discovered that if you get a diet with a bit more flexibility so that you will be able to work it into your life every single day, you’re better off.

    Rigid diets may make you lose weight in spurts, but the flexible ones help you to keep going over time and you can keep it going a lot longer without failing and losing your drive. If a diet looks so strict that it won’t fit into every circumstance, then it’s not the one for you.

    That's a really great idea, but I don't know if I've ever heard of a diet that not only puts you in the driver's seat but that also works. I am one of those people who needs a lot of rules and guidance or I just can't be trusted in the snack aisle.

        I think that it's better to start off with the rigid structure and then you can start to break away from that as you learn wher eyou have a bit of wiggle room now and again.

          Tara, do you have any suggestions as to where a person can actually find a diet like this? It sounds like the idea but I don't know any that fit that description.

            do weight watchers points do that?

              Likely, any points based system or calorie counting system would give you the chance to either accurately control what you’re eating regardless of where you are or at least allow you to be able to “ballpark” it so that you come close.

                  I don't think this counts for any time in December. It really is too hard to stick to any kind of diet at this time of the year. I just hope that I won't end up gaining too much weight. I think that's all I can really hope for.
