I’m looking for information about the Paleo diet. I have heard mixed reviews. The name of it sounds stupid but the more I read about it, the more it makes sense to me. Am I falling for a marketing ploy of some kind?

The major premise behind the Paleo diet is to drop all of the processed and manufactured foods that have become a major part of our lives, today but that really aren't doing our bodies or our digestive systems any good. It is a much more whole food focused diet and it concentrates on giving the body what it needs while eliminating all of the empty calories and junk that most of us have become addicted to.

Thank you. I’m still not sure if I’m going to give it a try, but at least I’m starting to get a bit of confirmation of what it’s all about. It does look good in that it steers away from all the “bad foods”.
Does anyone know how rigid this diet is? For example, could I EVER have junk food? Even as a rare treat.

I didn't actually think that it was all that it was cracked up to be, especially because it's so restrictive, but research (preliminary) is starting to show that it's got potential. No research that is worth anything has gone past 12 week trials - which really doesn't say much for long term - but the results from those really haven't been bad!
