  • Best diets for 2020

I want to start a new diet program for the new year. What do you guys recommend? What would you say is the healthiest most practical and best diet to follow that also won't break the bank? I was thinking of making DASH or Volumetrics or something like that. I need to follow a diet that actually has rules, doings something that's got too much freedom like Mediterranean or something won't work for me cause I need to follow a well-laid out guide.

I say start with DASH. That one has been around for a while and always gets good reviews. I also think that's the one that is the mashup of two diet, like it takes the best of both worlds of two diets but I can't remember which ones they are LOL.

Oh ya? Why do you think that DASH is the best one?

DASH is okay, but it's more related to health than it is for weight loss. Weight loss is kind of a side effect of the diet but not really the main focus. If you're seeking a diet that's good for weight loss, personally I would recommend choosing a vegetarian-based one, weight watchers or Mediterranean. The reason is that you can still eat a lot of foods on these diets. You can eat well without having to make odd sacrifices.

DASH is good for your overall health, and places special focus on cholesterol health. You can lose weight following it, but as Tiff has said, if you're ultimate goal for changing your diet is weight loss, you might find other programs better suited to achieving your objective.

Personally I would recommend volumetrics over DASH for weight loss. Volumetrics helps you quit on and off dieting and focuses on eating nutritious foods and working exercise into your life.

I've also heard good things about Volumetrics. I personally like those types of diets that focus on both healthy and smart eating and exercise because I'm a believer that you really need both to get the most out of weight loss, keeping it off and looking and feeling your best.
