Is there a good plant-based diet that isn't just a vegetarian or vegan diet?

I would like to follow a diet that is more plant-based but that isn't meat-free, either. Does something like that exist?

Sure there are lots. Mediterranean, Flexitarian, Volumetrics are a few that focus more on getting plants and less on getting meat. Meat is still included, but it's more in moderation than it is as the main meal. Also, these diets tend to focus on lean cuts of meat and are more poultry and fish-based instead of beef based.

DASH and MIND are also good diets to try. You could also just work on adding more plant-based foods to you diet and cutting back on meat. You know like have mostly vegetarian meals with a few chicken and fish meals thrown in and the very occasional red meat if that's something you enjoy.

Oh cool. I didn't realize there were that many. I've heard of some of those too and they're supposed to be good. Thanks for letting me know! I'll check each of these out and hopefully one of them will actually make sense. Actually, the Flexitarian one sounds pretty interesting. Thanks again :)

Yeah Felxitarian is pretty cool. The trouble with all these diets though is that they require to make some pretty big changes to your lifestyle. This is why so many of them tend to fail for people. In my experience when you suddenly have to make all these big changes, you're likely to be on board with them at first but then as time wears on they become a nuisance instead of a habit. I really recommend you choose something that's not too different from your current lifestyle.

I agree with Tiff. Making dietary changes isn't always easy, especially after the first week or two of making them. If you really want to go totally plant based, I would recommend making this a gradual switch so that you can get used to eating differently. Otherwise, you're likely to quit your efforts after a few weeks. Sometimes, following something new isn't always about discipline, but also about what you can handle.

Agreed. It's entirely about what you can handle. If that means going vegetarian or vegan - great, if it doesn't mean those things, also great. It's important to live healthy in a way that works for you.
