  • Dr. Bernstein - yes or no

I’ve been watching commercials for the Dr. Bernstein diet and they say that it’s actually typical to lose 20 pounds per month. It’s not UP TO, it’s actually what you lose. That sounds very attractive for me for the new year but I’m wondering if anyone else has tried it. It’s not cheap and it looks pretty hard and like I’ll be hungry most of the time.

If any one has any stories or reviews to share about that diet, I’d be very appreciative. Good or bad, I’d like to know.

I'm going to start this by saying that I have never personally tried the Dr. Bernstein diet. However, the girlfriend of a very good friend of mine tried it a couple or three years ago.

Here's what she went through: She found the diet very easy to follow. She was hungry and she had a couple of weak/dizzy spells (throughout a couple of months, so that's not really a lot). That said, she lost the amount of weight that they said she would. She looked great! Throughout the diet and for the first couple of months after, she was spreading the word that this is the perfect diet.

However, since then, she's gained back a lot of the weight. It started pretty soon after the diet ended. Now it's a lot of money and time wasted.

I'm not really a fan of any diet that makes you eat an extremely low amount of calories. The only good thing that I can say specifically about this one is that it is supervised by medical professionals and you actually get shots to make sure that your nutrition doesn't completely dwindle. If you are going to take on this kind of diet, I imagine that this is the way to go.
