  • The Step diet

I've read some good things about this diet. Has anyone tried it and does it work well? How easy is it to follow and how quickly should I begin to see results?

It's very easy to follow...well, at least that's what my aunt says. I've personally never tried it, but she really likes it and talks about it all the time. I think essentially it tells you the portion size of each food you should have on your plate (e.g. protein, fiber carb). I think like half the plate should be vegetables or something and the other half is split up between protein and carbs and i think protein is less than carbs....but don't quote me on that. You can find out what it is if you get the book for the diet. As for exercise, it's mostly about getting at least 10,000 steps per day, hence the name of the diet

This is a great diet! If you are going to do it, I highly recommend you get a fitness tracker so you can track your steps. This is the best way to know how good you're doing on the exercise front. Plus, if you do the diet with other people and you all have fitness trackers you can get competitive with steps, whcih is also really motivating for weight loss :D

Cool thanks for the suggestion. I've been thinking about getting a fitness tracker. Maybe I'll ask for one for Christmas. I'm really keen to start this diet. I know it won't be easy, but it seems more straightforward in how to follow it compared to a lot of other diets out there.

That`s cool that you`re thinking about getting a fitness tracker. The only advice I would give about that is to make sure you get a good one (don`t settle for any of the knock offs) and make sure it is the size you want and that it contains all the features you want. Also, if you come in contact with a lot of water on a regular basis, getting a waterproof one may be better than getting one that is simply only water resistant.

I also agree that investing in a waterproof one is an amazing idea if you are in water a lot. I completely ruined my fitbit because I never take it off and the type of job I do, my hands are in water a lot...the device paid the price.
