  • Weirdest diet

I have a question because I’m curious. There are tons of weird diets out there. Without actually recommending them (cuz a lot of the weird ones are garbage), what are the strangest diets you’ve ever heard of.

For me, it’s probably the air diet. It’s where you prepare food, then serve yourself, and you smell the food, but you don’t eat any of it!

That really is a messed up diet. I'm not even sure I get how it works! Do you just do this perpetually until you pass out and someone hooks you up to an IV at the hospital? Don't you ever eat on the air diet?

I just finished hearing about a diet that works just like RPG video games. It works on your computer or your smartphone, I think. I can't remember what it's called, but I could see that becoming very addictive - which is a good thing for weight loss!

That's the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard! How is eating nothing going to benefit anyone? It just shuts down your metabolism and deprives you of nutrition! Definitely talk to your doctor before ever trying a silly thing like this, so that he can talk you out of it!

I used to try this kind of freak diets a lot because I wanted super fast results. I didn't want to have to diet for a long time. I wanted it all gone within a few weeks at the most. Now I know that this type of thing is very wrong.

My cousin got it into her head that if she ate radishes with every meal it would help her to lose weight without exercising. She was wrong LOL

any diet where you eat just one food. A lady at my work was eating only beets!

I know I already added my two cents, but here's another contribution: the twinkie diet!

Can you believe that there is actually a weight loss diet that is associated with a cream filled snack cake?

I just finished reading about it and had a good laugh. It just says that you're allowed to eat only twinkies up to a certain calorie limit. It sounds like a health nightmare, but it's funny all the same.

This diet is so weird .. lol
Anyway, I also want to share something that I've read about "bad diets", it is called "Blood Type Diet". This diet claims that an individual 's blood type should determine what foods they should eat and which ones to avoid. Then they say that there are no records of success with this plan because any long term success would be attributable to paying attention to what you eat, switching food intake to something more agreeable to your digestive physiology or frame of mind when you entered the program.

I heard about that, too. I can admit that I was dumb enough to actually wonder if there was any science to back up that sort of an idea. But I never tried it because it seemed too much of a stretch for me. I just couldn't see how a blood type could reroute the entire way that your body works. Thanks for posting this!

Have you heard of the Israeli Army diet? It's insane. It's like dieting boot camp at home. If you can get through it without crying, you're tougher than me haha

Its funny! :) I did not expect there was this "toothpaste diet", its kinda weird you know. People should not get involved to this kind of diet.

I actually gave that one a try and failed. it's really hard. I bet if you can get through it then you'd really lose a lot of weight fast, but it's pretty much impossible unless you have a whole lot of drive - way more than me.
