  • Does Dukan work?

It got Kate into her wedding gown when she married Prince William and she still looks great today. Has anyone else tried the Dukan diet and did it work for you? I’m really trying to lose weight fast but I haven’t found the plan I want yet.

I don't trust any diet that makes you take measures that seem "drastic" or that I wouldn't want to continue in a milder way for maintenance afterward. Starvation isn't the way to go.

Plus in long term , few months after you finish it you may preper yourself for some hair lost (it will grow back entually), on the top of mild "normal" cetosis sideeffect while you on it. And it is important you do all 4 phases, uderwise the weight will come back. I personally couldnt last. And i think Kate Middleton looks too skinny, some mey call it anorectic...
Wow, thanks for that great information. I didn't realize that it could have side effects like losing my hair! I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with that, since I already have thin hair. If I have cravings, I'm likely to cheat on the diet, too. This is great info. THanks for letting me know.

Probably if you're careful about the specific foods that you choose, to ensure proper nutrition, and you supplement, you won't lose your hair.

I've heard that you can get some pretty good results with the Dukan diet. If you're having side effects (there was mention of hair loss in a few of these posts), then it's likely a good idea to start supplementing B vitamins and omega 3s, or make sure that you include dukan-friendly foods that naturally contain these things.

The Dukan diet is NOT about starvation. It’s a four-stage diet that helps you lose weight by eliminating carbs in the first two stages. During this time you eat healthy proteins and vegetables, exercise and drink lots of water. Carbs are re-introduced in the third stage, after which you learn to balance your meals with the right amount of carbs and proteins. I needed to drop 22 pounds last year and I opted for Dukan diet’s weight loss solutions and boy, am I glad I did! I dropped 25 pounds in 12 weeks and have kept the weight off ever since. If you think it’s all about starvation, then let me tell you, it isn’t. I ended up feeling full at the time and any urge I had to snack were lost

              Good plan

I think it's a good plan. Anything that lowers your carbs (especially at the beginning) and makes you aware of them sounds good to me. Also, many people need a structured plan rather than just trying to "eat better". Not many of us know what "eating better" really means in terms of weight loss.
