  • Egg allergy

I have an egg allergy and I'm discovering that a lot of products use eggs in their ingredients. Does anyone know if eggs are used in the making of supplements and if they are is this usually listed?

What should I do if I want to take supplements or OTC diet pills but I want to avoid eggs?

read the ingredients list and other facts located direction on the bottle or product packaging. Most companies indicate what can be found in their formulas and will also provide warnings about what they may contains, ex: nuts, shelfish, dairy, egss, etc.

If you really want to be on the safe side I would recommend that you stick with supplements that are Vegan-friendly. Vegans don't eat eggs so there won't be an egg product in these.

I agree with tammybear and would also like to stress that you need to make sure it says VEGAN friendly and not just vegetarian friendly. Lots of Vegetarians eat eggs. Vegans don't. So look for Vegan to be on the safe side :)

As everyone else said. Look for a vegan-friendly product and most manufacturers actually state if they don't have eggs, because it's a selling point (ex. no preservatives, additives, artificial colors, flavorings, shellfish, wheat, eggs, etc.). If you're unsure, I would recommend just not taking the product.

Definitely read EXACTLY what's in the product. Even if it says it's "Vegan-friendly" don't just trust that. I've seen bottles that claim to be Vegan-friendly and they contain gelatin! If a product doesn't list it's non-active ingredients, just don't take it - plain and simple.

It really is just a matter of reading the label.

Thanks Legendarytroy! I didn't even think about that. I can't believe how irresponsible manufacturers can be with their labels and advertising!
