CLA, which stands for conjugated linoleic acid is a naturally occurring trans-fatty acid made from omega 6 fatty acids. The belief is that it can decrease body fat and increase lean muscle tissue among other health benefits. This is why some people see it as a miracle supplement.
As for its true effectiveness, the jury is still out on that one. There are some studies that claim it does help reduce body fat while others found that it didn't. There's a lot of mixed opinions about CLA.
Personally, I feel that if it's one of the ingredients in a diet pill I'm taking I'm okay with that but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out.

Yeah, I don't think CLA really does anything significant for weight loss. It's one of those ingredients that is touted in the weight loss industry, but there's just not enough evidence to prove its effectiveness. Plus, it's often combined with so many other ingredients that even if it was potentially effective, it's not going to do squat for you because there isn't enough of the ingredient in the weight loss formula for it to do anything.
