I've tried a lot of different appetite suppressants. I'm not going to name brands. I've tried a lot with hoodia, chitosan, and others that say they'll make it so much easier to eat less. None work. Not for more than a day, so that's really just a placebo working in that case. Do any ingredients really do the job? I am not asking for spam. Please don't name specific pills. I'm not here to boost your affiliate links. I'm wondering about ingredients. Does anyone known any that work and have research to back it up? Medical journal links welcome!

In my opinion (I don't have a medical journal link for this) they really don't work. At least no the over the counter ones. Ones that have stimulants can shrink your appetite a bit. Caffeine can cut down on your hunger levels temporarily. But the ones that say they fill you up with fibers and gels and all that are really just exaggerating. They don't do enough to make a difference. plus it's not just a matter of how hungry you are but also what you eat. If I eat a giant salad, I'm getting way less calories than if I eat two pieces of pizza. It's about choices too if you want to actually do something to your weight loss.
