I just found out that some people take Metamucil for weight loss. Why would they do that?? Isn't that for helping to alleviate or prevent constipation and keep you regular? How would that help with weight loss?

That's what I was wondering. I know it's given to help people have regular bowl movements. Maybe the fiber in it can help you to feel full? Honestly, I have no idea. Plus, I'm always leery when people recommend products for something that they weren't initially developed for. Personally, I wouldn't take Metamucil for weight loss reasons.

God no! It can help you with constipation, that's it. If you're not constipated and you use it wrong, you will risk hurting your nutrient absorption, dehydration, and still won't lose more body fat. That's just not how this works. You'll set yourself up for digestive struggle, but not for body fat management.
