Do herbs really do anything?

I think that some of them do. They're not as powerful as pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, but they do something. Like I think that green tea can be considered an herb and it has been studied and shown that if you take pills that are over 500mg of it, it can help you to lose weight a little bit faster, but it's not like you're going to drop a pound a day or anything.

Probably there are some that work but it's so hard to figure out which ones they are that I find it too overwhelming. Everybody claims that their herbs are a miracle even if they've never done anything before. So many people are just in the industry for the money that pretty much no claims can be trusted without science to back them up. That really frustrates me.

The thing that people need to remember is that herbs are basically a food--feeding the body. You can't expect overnight results with them, but over a period of time, they will be helpful.
Personally, I prefer herbs over pharmaceuticals any day of the week. I think they're much safer.
