  • Magnesium for weight loss

    Should I be taking a magnesium supplement for weight loss? Is there any way that this nutrient could help shed fat. My friend says that he uses it and it helps him, but I just thought it was mostly to help with sleep.

    isn't this just supposed to help you sleep or relax you? I thought it always had to do with being calm I've never heard of it being good for weight loss.The only supplements for weight loss I've seen it in are nighttime non-stimulant ones which are supposed to help you burn fat and get restful sleep, so I think in this product the magnesium is meant as a sleep aid and not for the fat burning bit.

      I'm pretty sure it's designed only to relax and calm you. It might be good for anxiety or for helping you wind down for sleep, but it's not going to cause you to burn any fat or anything.

        I really don't think magnesium will help with weight loss. At best it will relax you...and being relaxed isn't really great for burning fat or calories haha.

          Okay. Thanks Char. This makes a lot of sense. I guess if it helps with sleep this could be good for weight loss, But I didn't think it would actually lead to fat burning.

            Magnesium isn't going to help you burn fat or anything, but it could actually help with your weight loss efforts by aiding with relaxation. Honestly, when you're less stressed, you have better focus and you're more logical. Magnesium can help to provide you with a sense of calm that can really help keep you steady and balanced.

              So true! Any time I'm feeling positive and not stressed out, I tend to make far better decisions!
