Weight watchers has some really good and affordable snack ideas as people often think healthier foods cost more, but that's not always true.
Create single serving snacks. Buy the larger bags of pretzels, cereal, baked chips etc. and portion them out into individual zip lock baggies or Tupperware containers. Put any extras up in a high cupboard for later on.
Choose brightly colored fruits and vegetables that have some crunch to them. (Try to choose ones that are in season to keep costs down.) A ruby red apple, for example, contains more nutrition than apple juice. Fruits and veggies are more flavourful when they are in season, and they cost less, too.
Chew your food! Don't waste your calories on beverages. Whole fruits and vegetables contain more fibre than juice does (fibre can make you feel full), and they take longer to eat than an easily gulped cup of liquid. They tend to be lower in calories too.
