Is there a difference between calorie tracking and calorie counting, or is this the same thing but with two different names. I'm wondering only because I think weight watchers is calorie counting, right? If they are two different things, I want to do the best one.

I think that they are the same thing. Specifially calorie counting is actually counting the number of calories you eat in a day while calorie tracking is entering this information into a tracking app, device or other system designed to add up and record the number of calories you eat in a day. So, essentially, they are the same.

Oh okay. I guess that makes sense. I just wasn't sure if the terms could be used interchangeably or if there was a difference. Sometimes, there is a difference and while it's only minor it can matter, especially if you are looking for something specific, you know? Also, speaking of calorie tracking apps, can anyone recommend a good one to me (free app preferably please!)

SparkPeople, FatSecret, Cron-o-meter, Lose it! and My Fitness Pal, are all good options and I think most of them offer a free version :D
