Is this just strictly some restrictive diet you follow or is there actually exercise recommended with it as well?

I think there's a "newer" version of it that includes some exercise suggestions but mostly I think as long as you just exercise in a way that works for you it should be helpful. Mostly with South Beach I think the focus is really on following the dieting rules.

I think the exercise is a mix between cardio and strength training. Honestly, I think as long as you follow the diet and apply your own exercise regimen to it you should be fine. It's more about consistency than anything when it comes to exercise.
