  • Lose weight based on your personality?

I came across this diet plan called "The Personality Type Diet" and I thought it sounded pretty stupid at first based on it's name, but as I read a bit about it, I found that it actually makes a lot of sense. Has anyone else heard of this diet and tried it? If so, did you find success with it?

This sounds a little bogus to me. I mean...a diet based on your personality...but I guess whatever works as long as they don't recommend you do anything extreme.

Actually this is a pretty good weight loss program that's not a fad at all. The diet makes a lot of sense and doesn't require you to make extreme changes. It essentially teaches you to figure out what kind of personality you have in regard to weight loss. In other words, how you think of weight loss and your attitude toward dieting and exercise and provides you with a diet program based on the type of person you are so you can understand your habits and work with them to achieve your fat loss goals. Personally, I thin it's a pretty clever diet and at the very least worth picking up the book to give it a read.

I have to agree with Bigbobby. It does sound totally bogus. There's no way a diet plan can tell you how to eat properly based on your personality. Especially considering there are so many different personalities. I wouldn't give this diet another thought if I were you bonneikines

I also think this is a fad diet. I'm not saying you shouldn't look into it. It's not that a fad diet can't work for you, but research what it requires of you, judge how healthy you think it sounds and then consider if it will actually work with your lifestyle.

You don't have to knock a diet just because it's popular or trendy. If something works and isn't putting your health at risk in the process - go for it!

hmmmm...that's a lot of mixed opinions. I think I might just take the advice of those of you who recommended I just pick the book up and give it a read to see what I think of it myself. I admit that it does sound kinda faddy, but at the same time some of what I heard might make sense...plus I know want to take that questionnaire to find out what kind of personality I have lol.
