If you've got hypoglycemia and you're trying to lose weight, basically you still need to control the number of calories you're getting and exercise regularly while making sure you keep your sugar levels balanced. The best way to do this is to eat foods high in protein and complex carbohydrates like grains, seeds, nuts, etc. Choose low fat foods (ex. low-fat dairy) and be sure to eat your fruits and veggeies.
Avoid soft drinks, candy, sweet deserts and refined sugar. These sugars are broken down too quickly in the blood stream which can prevent glucose from being produced at a continual pace.

Yeah, essentially you're going to want to make sure you're eating regularly so you don't have a sugar crash and you're going to want to avoid white sugars and sweeteners. Sweets are not going to do you any favors. If you're craving some sugar get it from natural sources like fruits or honey.

The funny thing is you'd think that if you have low blood sugar it would make sense that any kind of sugar (refined or natural) would be good for you since your levels are so low but clearly this couldn't be further from the truth.
