Anyone heard of the Optavia diet? Is this any good?

  • #2
Yup I've heard of it and it's one of those diets that can be good or bad, depending on your goals, budget and lifestyle. It's made by Medifast, so essentially it's a type of meal replacement diet. It will help you lose weight quickly, that said, it's not a practical diet plan because you have to buy most of the food you're required to eat and you only ingest about 1000 calories daily. So, it's not really a practical long term diet for the average person because it's costly and it will be difficult to eat minimal calories like that for a long time. Personally, it's not worth it to me, so I don't think it is it s a good diet. That said, it might work for someone else.

I don't trust any diet program that involves you having to buy their foods. It's just a money grab. Even if you lose weight for the short term because you're not ingesting many calories, this isn't a long term solution. I would stay away from this one.

Never even heard of this diet. That said, I don't like diets that require you to buy products. It's not that I don't think you'll lose weight, I just think that over the long-term they're too expensive to keep up and they get boring because you're eating the same foods all the time, even if they have over 60 options. It's like having a lifestyle of eating military rations. Fun at first, but gets old pretty fast, especially whenever everyone else is eating other things you'd rather be having.

I agree. Beyond the price, that's exactly what I think is the problem with diets that require you to buy their products. After a month, the thrill is gone.

Essentially, if you like Medifast, then you'll like this one.

Hahah wow! Okay, so this diet program doesn't have may fans LOL! Paplo I think it's like a few hundred dollars a month depending on the plan. It really isn't cheap. It's one of the reasons I was asking about it.
