    Can anyone recommend a recipe for a meal that is very low in calories but that still gives you a full plate?

    Sure! Take all of the veggies in your fridge, cut them up, and toss them in a pan with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil until they cook down a bit. TONS of food, very low cal.

      I think that the best way to keep the calories way down is to focus exclusively on veggies and make a stir fry using veggie stock (low sodium) instead of any fat source. That way, you can pile on the food and never have to worry about skyrocketing calories. I like to just throw in any veggies I have. When you mix a huge number of veggies, you can use just about anything and it will still work with the other flavors.

        go for a salad without dressing, cheese, nuts, or really any protein. Raw leafies with raw veggies on it (since cooking them usually means oil)

            I like basing meals on squash or sweet potato when I want them to be very low cal. That way, they're filling and nutritious, too.

              Instead of having a piece of meat, just use an egg, instead. Hard boil it or poach it and you'll get protein without all of the calories of chicken or red meat.

                soups in a veggie broth and that are made of veggies are good for low cal. Start with that if you're in a pinch.
